EDUCATE EMPOWER EMBRACE & ENGAGE OUR YOUTH Programs Our Programs

The Village Performing Arts School

Tuesdays & Thursdays kids between the ages of 7-13 meet after school in the Doyle School Community Center in the main room, get a snack, put on crazy goofy hats and talk about their day. After a few minutes of listening, sharing, and peer advice we get ready for the REAL FUN…students get a chance to learn a variety of artistic and theater skills on Tuesdays and learn how to develop the necessary skills in becoming positive leaders.  On Thursdays it is time to dance.  Hip Hop and other fun steps are taught.

Art 2 Heart has developed the unique blend of character building while teaching the arts. It is our strong belief that every individual has the inate talents and gifts to help them pursue and complete their purpose in life. With the correct guidance and patience we are developing leaders "one stage at a time".

We keep a limited small number so that we can focus on fulfilling our goals and mission of helping young people to integrate their…Talents and Virtures into living and leading productive responsible lives.

What makes us different from any ordinary after school program?

Monday: Tutoring/Reading Class; Tuesday: Book Writing/ Art Class; Wednesday: Tutoring / Reading Class Thursday: Theater 101

On Thursday, we pick up our whole crew of kids from school and head out to the Point Theater in Ingram. Jeff Cunningham of the Hill Country Arts Foundation leads the class in their lessons on theater magic creation. The "nuts and bolts" of the theater operation, if you will. We started in January and will be continuing well into April. The students are learning everything from lighting to costume design to stage set-up. Not to mention the lingo, such as, vomitorium and the plaster line.

The Hill Country Arts Foundation has a long history of working to increase the culture and arts within the hill country community. It has taken many cups of coffee to bring this class to fruition. Looks like this is the first step to an awesome partnership. A huge thanks to Mr. Jeff Cunningham and Mrs. Lorraine LeMon for bringing such an outstanding opportunity to the children of Art2Heart.

Parent meetings are every Tuesday and Thursday at 5:15pm
